“They were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken..." Acts 2:6
in Bringing the Bible to Everyone
The OBT school will train trainers who want to multiply oral Bible translation projects and schools in YWAM while equipping people to be oral translation facilitators.
You could be part of a team that would help an oral culture receive the Word of God in their heart language for the first
time in history. Come and equip yourself with us!
WHY ORAL TRANSLATION?
We recognize that the great majority of those who speak a bible-less language are oral learners. Therefore, we value an oral approach to Bible translation. While it is not the only valid approach, we consider it to be a good and desirable one – especially in the initial stages of Bible translation.

God has called us to partner with Him in ending Bible poverty now. In order to accomplish the
EBPN vision, YWAM has launched the OBT 1000 project. Over the next five years (or by
December, 2025) YWAM – in intentional cooperation with others in the body of Christ who are
engaged in ending Bible poverty – is committed to help translate and produce needed and
appropriate biblical resources for 1000 bibleless language communities.
